“Is my Loved One in Heaven Sending 11:11 as a Sign?”

One reason why you may see the number 11:11 on your grief journey is because you are in a place where you feel hopeless. And, your loved one in heaven is finding ways to reach out to you with love, to give you a message of hope.

What is hope?

“Hope is like a beacon of light in the darkest of times, on your grief journey. It’s the belief or feeling that something positive can happen, that circumstances can improve, or that there’s a possibility for a better future.”

Hope vs the Reality of Grief… 

But, let’s keep it real, because when you’re in the pits of grief, that isn’t so simple is it? It’s easier for people to say to you.

“Hold onto hope” or “things will get better” or “give it time, time is the greatest healer.”  

And, although people mean well, when you are in the pits of grief, those words get drowned out by your feelings and you sink into a deep state of hopelessness. 

Have you lost hope? Because if you have and you are seeing the number 11:11 on your grief journey, perhaps this blog was meant to find you for a reason? Perhaps, the number 11:11 that your loved one in heaven sends you, has connected you to this specific post for a reason?

The reality of grief is more like this…

Grief is like standing in the world on your own, where everything is muted around you. And, the only thing you can hear and feel is the internal dialogue inside your head, which creates a domino effect to possible, self-destructive thoughts and feelings. 

It’s these thoughts, feelings and emotions that pull you into this dark hole, and sometimes it feels like you are being swallowed whole and you can’t see a way out, because you are consumed in so much darkness. 

The world feels fuzzy, hazy and distant. It’s like you are disconnected from everyone and everything. I feel you, because I relate to this from my own personal experience with grief.

The best way I can personally describe grief is like this…

 Grief wraps its arms around you tightly. 

You feel like you are being suffocated and then this heavy fog obscures your vision. 

You can’t see the road ahead and you can’t see beyond your thoughts, feelings and emotions. 

Every step forward feels like an effort, as if you’re carrying an immense burden that only grows heavier with time. 

It’s like you aren’t living, but surviving to just exist and even then, sometimes, you may feel like you don’t want to be in this world because the pain and heartache is too much for you to bear. 

You see this state of hopelessness, is when your loved ones reach out, in the attempt to change hopelessness, into hope! 

And, that’s when they start dropping signs on your path like 11:11, to give you hope, by trying to get your attention. And, maybe it’s just a small drop of hope, or a small glimmer of light in the number 11:11, but small things build up and over time helps to build your hope up too.

As I, type this now, I can hear that song by Rhianna… 

“We found love.”
